The heart of God in the heart of Southeast Texas.

As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ, and believers in God the Creator, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
St. Stephen’s Mission is to love God, share Jesus, and rejoice in the Spirit.

Attire

Attire at St. Stephen's is entirely a matter of personal comfort.

Dress up. Dress casually. Arrive straight from a night shift in Nomex, scrubs, or work clothes.

What matters most is presence, participation, and a shared journey in worship and fellowship.

They are engaged in a ritual with women, one of whom is wearing a red dress, and another woman with white hair is also involved.

About Our Worship

Worship in the Episcopal Church follows a liturgical tradition rooted in the Book of Common Prayer. Services reflect historic Christian worship through practices such as kneeling for prayer and singing hymns from the hymnal. A service booklet is provided each Sunday to help worshipers easily follow the liturgy.

At the same time, participation is approached with flexibility and grace. Worshipers are invited to engage in ways that feel meaningful and comfortable, whether through bowing, standing, praying, making the sign of the cross, or simply sitting quietly in reflection.

St. Stephen’s seeks to offer a welcoming and loving environment where all may encounter God’s presence, regardless of background, experience, or familiarity with Episcopal worship.
